Alexander Savi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam Center for Learning Analytics (ACLA) at the Department of Pedagogical and Educational Sciences (POW) of VU University Amsterdam (VU). His research is invariably at the cutting edge of educational technology and research methodology: from adaptive learning algorithms, large-scale ICT experiments and automated error analysis, to the detection of weak schools and models for cognitive development. He actively collaborates with non-academic parties in the field of education, including Prowise (developer of adaptive practice software for elementary school) and the Inspectorate of Education. His research has been published in, among others, Science, Perspectives on Psychological Science, Learning and Individual Differences, Computers & Education and Journal of Learning Analytics. He enjoys standing in front of the classroom and can regularly be found in the climbing hall in his spare time.
