As part of the Educational Inequalities of Newcomers project, my research focuses on the impact of the school environment on performance gaps between non-migrant students and those who are first-generation migrants. The primary aim is to understand the mechanisms behind the educational disadvantages of newcomers. Specifically, I examine how teachers with similar migration background, class composition, and student relative rank affect student performance.
