Chris van Klaveren
Chris van Klaveren is involved within the Education Lab as project leader of the theme ‘ICT and innovation’. He is co-responsible for research into innovations for the algorithmic identification of risk schools and sustainable implementation of ICT in education.
Chris van Klaveren obtained his PhD in mathematical economics in 2019 and is founder and director of the Amsterdam Center for Learning Analytics (ACLA) at VU University Amsterdam. Within this research group and in his current research group he combines causal and predictive evaluation methods, as well as insights from behavioral psychology, to achieve more effective and efficient education, labor market and clinical outcomes. In this research, machine learning techniques are combined with causal evaluation methods, with the aim of performing dynamic data-driven predictions and effect measurements in education.
