Language Lab Report

Within the Language Lab, a report is being developed that provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of science and practice regarding language disadvantages. To paint a complete picture, this report combines insights from the field and existing (scientific) publications with new data analyses and literature studies. Various chapters highlight different aspects, such as the typical language development of children between 0 and 15 years old, the data sources available for mapping language development and the information these sources contain, the current situation in language education and the language skills of Dutch pupils, and the current state of affairs regarding (international) interventions to tackle language deficits.
Goal of our project
This report serves as a foundation for the Language Lab. The identified knowledge gaps and questions arising from the report will serve as input for future Language Lab projects. Moreover, the report serves as advice for (policy) bodies outside the Language Lab.
